Burlington Sixth Form College’s two year A Level courses are intended for students who are continuing at Burlington after their GCSEs or for students from other schools or colleges who are seeking to achieve excellent grades in their A/S or A/2 years.

Most of our students study four subjects to A/S in Year 12 and continue with three of these to A/2 level in Year 13.

A Levels are the main public examinations taken by students in England and Wales and they retain the reputation as a prestigious and most widely recognised qualification that students can take before entering University.

Burlington College is a centre for the three English examination boards: AQA, EDEXCEL and OCR. The College selects the board for each subject that is best suited to the needs of our students.

The way the examinations at A/S and A2 are structured means that there is a great deal of flexibility about when they are taken during the two years of the course. Each student is assessed individually and an examination plan formulated by the Vice Principal, Parents and of course the student, to maximise the chances for success.
